Caro lettore,
silenzio", inspiegabilmente divenuto: "La mia musica".
lingua inglese.
mutato tutto in prima persona!
auto-biografia". Invece ho voluto fare qualcosa di molto
diverso; e allora, bello o brutto, noioso o

- Dear reader,
-
- It is with acute
regret that I find myself forced to inform you of the arbitrary
change to the title of my book, originally "La Musica del
Silenzio" ("The Music of Silence"), which has
now inexplicably become "La Mia Musica" ("My
Music" in the German version). I take a cue from this
unpleasant episode to put you on your guard about future possible
publications, completely false, in the English language. For a while
now, I have received pressure directed to convince me of the
opportunity to change my story, departing from the title, which for
purely commercial reasons, must become something like "Scenes
from My Life." Why? I wonder why I thought so long about the
title that I gave it, and which to me, who wrote the story, seems
the most suitable. Then it should all be changed into the first
person! Why? If I had really wanted to write a story of my life, I
surely would have done it in the first person, and I would have
probably called it "My Autobiography." Instead, I wanted
to do something much different; and so, good or bad, boring or
interesting as it may seem, why not respect the will of the author
and the expectations of the readers? Dear friend, who through the
internet grows closer to me by getting to know me better, I owed you
this warning. Now I feel just a little calmer and I prepare myself
to await the results.

"Cari lettori ed amici,
- non so come

Dear readers and friends,
I don't know how to thank you for the support that you have given me
in the
battle for the respect of the so-called author's rights. I'm proud
that the
publisher has given up publishing a forgery, and nothing,
really nothing, about the loss of earnings is important to me. A great
deal more
to my heart is the reputation of those people who always follow me
with
affection and always trust in the honesty of my
intentions. Besides, I don't give up hope that a better opportunity
will present
itself shortly.
