On July 26th  and August 3rd he portrays Lieutnant B.F. Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at the 48th Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago.

At the commemoration of September 11, he sings  "Ave Maria" at the United States embassy in Rome and participates at a special transmission on Italian TV in the afternoon.
On October 14 he and Maestro Lorin Maazel present his new CD "Sentimento" to a worldwide audience. Further presentations take place in Milan and New York, and the CD is released on November 4. It immediately conquers first place on the classic charts and sells over 2 million copies in only 40 days.

On October 24 he starts his "Sentimento Tour" in Zurich and brings it to big arenas in several European and American cities. The American part of the tour begins on November 23.

In front of audiences numbering over 10,000, he's accompanied by the soprano Maria Luigia Borsi and young Viennese violinist Lidia Baich, conducted by maestro Steven Mercurio in the US and maestro Marcello Rota in Europe.

He received many other awards as already mentioned above, including the Premio Luciano Cirri in Rome for his accomplishments in bringing Italian culture to the world, and for the same reason receives the Premio Caruso in September in Sorrento. In October in London, he receives the National Music Award as best classical artist, and in December is honored as Best of the World at the American Music Awards.
